- Listing data: business name, address and postcode, phone number, opening hours, services, price band, and any photos or documents you upload.
- Reviews: the review text, star rating, date, and the display name you choose.
- Usage data: pages viewed, searches run, and approximate location derived from your IP address.
- Support messages: anything you send us by email or through our contact form.
Why we use it
We use your data to publish and maintain directory listings, verify claims made by traders, display reviews, prevent fake or duplicate entries, respond to enquiries, and keep the site secure. Where we rely on legitimate interests, we balance those interests against your rights. Where we rely on consent — for example, marketing emails — you can withdraw it at any time.
What we publish
Business details and reviews are public by design. We mark each field as verified (checked by us against a source) or claimed (supplied by the trader). Never submit personal information you do not want shown publicly.
Sharing and retention
We share data with hosting, email and analytics providers acting on our instructions, and with law enforcement where legally required. We do not sell personal data. Listing and review data is kept while the listing is live; account data is deleted within 30 days of a verified deletion request.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our processing of your data, and to data portability. Email [email protected] and we will respond within one month. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
